Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

During this school year, I want to create a classroom that grabs their attention and makes them want to learn through language arts and geography. I teach in a high poverty area where students do not have many opportunities to go beyond their home or neighborhood. I would like to bring the world to them in my classroom.

As this is the last year these students will be in an elementary school, I want to make sure that they have the education to move on in higher grades.

I am working to produce successful members of society. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

My Project

The students in my classroom are placed in groups to help each other learn when they are not understanding what I teach. These groups all read the same book and work together to understand the skills of 6th grade. I would like to get some group sets of books that will remain in my classroom for the students use.

These books are on a higher reading level than most elementary novel studies and will challenge my most advanced students.

These students are often bored in most classrooms and would like something to challenge them to think harder and read more. I want to give them work on their level so they can continue to grow.
