This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me give my 9th grade ELA students three class sets of engaging novels to spark a love for reading and deep analysis. With these books, students will explore complex themes, develop their critical thinking skills, and improve their reading comprehension. The novels will be carefully chosen to reflect diverse voices and perspectives, giving students the opportunity to connect with characters and stories in meaningful ways. These books will not only enhance their academic growth but will also make literature feel relevant and exciting.

My goal for this project is to create a classroom environment where students are inspired to read, discuss, and think critically about the world around them.

By providing a variety of novels, I aim to nurture a deeper appreciation for literature while encouraging thoughtful conversations. I want my students to feel empowered as readers and thinkers, building skills that will serve them both in the classroom and beyond.

What makes my students special is their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. They come from diverse backgrounds, and many have unique perspectives to share. These novels will give them a platform to voice their ideas and connect with each other, fostering a collaborative and supportive classroom community.
