My students need snacks to eat during school and to take home so that they won't be hungry. The water helps with brain development, so it is vital that they make a habit of drinking it.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 7th graders in an inner-city school serving a diverse high poverty community of students in Richmond, VA. My students are excited about learning and are in need of resources for daily life as well as academic success. My students get excited about the thought of having a classroom where everyone's needs are met.
They would be able to have the world at their fingertips if given the things they need in and out of school.
They will use the clothes, food and other items to enhance their lives.
Imagination is important, and having access to the world now through having their needs met today has an effect on them for eternity.
My Project
These food items will help curb the appetites of our students who live in poverty and are homeless. In order for students to be successful in school their dietary needs have to be met.
Nourishment of the mind and body are essential for progression.
The academic and nutritional needs have to be addressed for the whole child to be effective. Lack of nutritional necessities cause lack of energy in focus that our students need. An adequate amount of food and other items for daily functions are essential. The chips, cookies and cheese crackers will allow students to have a quick snack to stay focused.
