Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The specific items I'm requesting will significantly enhance my students' learning experiences. By incorporating more short stories into our curriculum, I can provide diverse and engaging reading materials that cater to various interests and reading levels. This will not only help improve their reading skills but also foster a love for literature.
My primary goals for this project include increasing student engagement through enriched reading materials, ensuring that all students have access to nutritious snacks that promote focus and learning, and providing necessary resources like printer ink for customized assignments.
Additionally, I aim to create a comfortable and flexible seating arrangement that accommodates all students, enhancing their learning environment.
My students are truly remarkable; they come from a school where 100% are economically disadvantaged, and nearly all are reading below grade level. As a first-year English teacher, I have witnessed their resilience and eagerness to learn despite the challenges they face. By providing these essential resources, I hope to empower them to overcome obstacles, improve their literacy skills, and thrive academically.
