This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In our school we believe that teaching and learning is at its equitable best when we are relational, data driven, inquiry based and promoting independent learning.
This year our school in the heart of the South Bronx, driven by this vision aspire to provide our students with a learning experience that promotes rigor and excellence.
Many of our students posses the drive and intelligence that can ultimately lead them to lead successful lives. We are so committed to partnering with them on this journey to greatness.
My Project
Maslow's Hierarchy of needs posits that in order for students to self actualize they must have at minimum all the basic needs met. Unfortunately, for our students in the South Bronx, it is difficult to for our students to have the most basic need met: the need for food. As we commit ourselves to preparing our first group of 8th graders to take 3 ( three) New York State High School Regents Exams this June, 2022 we hope to not only prepare our students for academic success in high school but also put them on their path to college and career readiness.
We need your support in helping our student by providing them with healthy snacks for After-school and Saturday sessions.
We recognize again that it is impossible for students to focus, learn and think critically with poor nutrition. Your simple contribution to this cause will have exponentially positive impact on the life of a student attempting to experience academic success.
