This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are amazing and hardworking! They come from a variety of backgrounds which adds depth to our classroom discussions. Many of my students are English language learners and often need various forms of engaging lessons. We received a donation of specimens to dissect but we are in need of the tools (dissecting trays, scalpel, forceps, blade, scissors, animal plant cells) to carry out the dissections. Our end goal is to identify the various internal organs, perform an autopsy, and learn the various ways to suture.

Utilizing hands-on lessons such as dissection labs, allows students to have memorable learning experiences.

There is no better way to learn the internal anatomy of an animal than to see it firsthand. When lessons are interactive, students are more likely to be involved in their learning process, increasing their motivation and interest in the subject matter.
