Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Too often today kids are indoors playing on electronics and not outside having adventures. A large part of why kids are not playing outdoors is not only due to technology but also due to lack of equipment for them to use. In my experience, many kids today don’t know how to play basketball, football, soccer or even tag because they are not given the opportunity. With this equipment multipack, I plan on teaching all grade level students basic games and sporting activities that they can play independently, or in a team during their recess/ free time. I am very lucky at my school to have responsible students who can monitor the equipment with the aide of supervision staff. If we teach kids how to play, we will increase their activity levels and their likelihood of leading a healthy lifestyle.
