My Students
My students and I enjoy reading and analyzing all types of books - fiction and nonfiction alike. Books allow them to use their imaginations in order to create a picture inside their heads, and a good book can create lifelong learners.
My students love the feel of a book in their hands.
They don't want to read it on a device or from a PDF. We need these books so we can keep reading. We use The Outsiders and Things Not Seen to connect to our personal struggles in and out of school.
My Project
From these novels, students will learn and apply many literary terms: symbolism, theme, imagery, characterization, etc. Students will also challenge themselves to think critically about literature and how they can relate to the characters in each of these novels. The novels The Outsiders and Things Not Seen will allow my students to make real world connections. We need 10 new books of each of these wonderful novels.
