My Project

This project includes a wide range of items to help address multiple mental health concerns facing teenagers today. I have chosen each item specifically to help my student population. From tea and snacks to help students concentrate in class to coloring books, journals, conversation starters, art supplies, and calming puzzles, students will be able to find a safe haven in my classroom to reflect, process, and calm their minds. I included a sun lamp because we have exceptionally long winters in our area and the lack of natural light wears on students and teachers alike. This lamp will help brighten students' days! And the blankets will pair perfectly with the yoga mats I already have, and serve as sources of comfort and warmth on cold winter days.

How can we ask students to do their best work in class if they are stressed and worried about other things going on in their personal lives?

The materials in this project will allow students to take the time they need to emotionally and mentally work through all the stress that comes with being a teenager.
