This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with the majority of our students receiving free lunch. Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in Miami Beach. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Portuguese and Pakistan. As diverse as my students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics.
Students are eager to learn and explore new concepts.
They love technology and they really want to be part of the community.
My Project
Students will be able to take notes and keep their interactive notebooks organized in the graph notebooks. In addition, the calculators will allow students to practice on exactly the same calculators that are allowed in the final exam.
All of these items will improve students' math skills as well as their desire to learn!
Students will have the opportunity to get used to taking notes and study/ reviewing their notes and comparing with their peers. Students will find their own methods for notes using the interactive guidelines on the composition notebooks. Students will learn how to keep enrichment material in their folders for later review as well. The proper use of the calculators will definitively improve their math skills.

Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
