This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an high school teacher, I see firsthand how essential basic supplies are to my students’ success—and one of the most fundamental tools they need every day is a notebook. Unfortunately, many of my students come from low-income households and arrive at school without the materials necessary to engage fully in their education. By providing notebooks for each student, you will be giving them a simple but powerful tool that supports organization, creativity, and consistent learning.

Notebooks are used daily in our classroom for writing assignments, note-taking, reflection activities, journaling, and brainstorming.

They help students keep their work in one place and build confidence in their writing and thinking skills. With a notebook in hand, students can track their academic growth, revisit important concepts, and express themselves freely through writing.

When students lack notebooks, they are forced to scramble for loose papers, share materials, or simply go without—a situation that often leads to missed work and a sense of discouragement. With your support, I can ensure that every student starts and ends the year with a personal notebook they can take pride in.
