The students at Highland are energetic, motivated, hard working, and impressive thinkers. Our hounds have a passion for learning and working collaboratively.
Highland is a small school in a tight knit community, where everyone feels like family.
From kindergartners to fifth grade, every student has a smile and kind word to share.
Three weeks ago, our students left school without knowing they would not be returning to finish out the school year, leaving them at home with little to no school supplies, books, or resources.
My Project
The students of Highland left school one Thursday with no idea they were not coming back until the next school year. They left behind all of their supplies and teachers were unable to prepare them for this closure.
We are asking for these supplies so we can make remote learning a success for ALL the students at Highland.
Highland is a 54% Title One building meaning that we are planning to be a school wide Title One building in the fall. Many of our families are under great pressure at this time, and we are looking to provide a ray of hope for them.
We want to put together "Remote learning" kits for every student at our school. Each student will get pencils, paper, erasers, a notebook, a highlighter, a white board marker, page projectors (to use as personal white boards), a folder, and crayons so they can complete assignments at home during this difficult time.
