This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My seventh and eighth grade students come to school carrying piles of stress and the impact of tragedies on their shoulders. They face more troubles in their short lives than I would hope to face in a lifetime. Yet, despite their hardships, they continue to amaze me.
My students attend school in a building that is over 100 years old with a lack of resources; yet, they harness the potential to change the world.
They just need access to resources to reach and realize their full potential. Now, that is where amazing people like you come in.
My Project
In order to help keep ourselves organized in the middle school math classroom, my students need 3-subject math notebooks. The notebook will help the students organize their warm-up problems, vocabulary and math notes. The notebook will become a math guide that students can refer to throughout the school year. They will easily be able to access examples of problems, definitions of major math concepts, and notes on the various skills. Middle School math is a major transition for many students. The students will go from concrete, procedural math to abstract math.
Organization is a key to success in the middle school math classroom!
