We have a wonderful Newcomer Program for our students as they enter into our large, urban high school.
Our newcomers come from all corners of the world, speak over 45 different languages, and have many different cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.
However, these pieces of their identities do not define them. The students who are in our Newcomer Program are curious and creative. They come in every day willing to learn and be challenged. It is important for all the teachers at LHS to help support our newcomers as they start their adventures through academics at LHS.
My Project
We are so lucky to be able to welcome students from all over the world into our school! Our Newcomer Program has a very special group of students who need a safe learning environment to flourish and thrive.
The notebooks, pencils, erasers and other classroom supplies (including tape, staples, and ink for the classroom printer) will help in creating a safe learning environment and provide our newcomers with the supplies they will need to learn and meet their English Language Learning goals.
Our students have come into the country with dreams of working hard and our Newcomer Program supports their dreams by providing them with tools to succeed in all that they do.
