My students need Reading Comprehension Daily Practice Journals to improve their skills as readers. They also need the Power Pens and Quiz Cards set to make learning new math skills quick and fun.

Work hard. Be nice. Change the world. Those are the three rules by which my students live each day. When they come into my classroom, they are full of energy and hope. Moreover, they are truly excited about learning. Never before have I had a group of students literally jump up out of their seats and wildly wave both of their hands in the air because they want to take a risk and answer a challenging question in reading and math!
My school is a Title 1 school, and most of my students live in under-served communities and receive free or reduced-price lunch.
However, they do not let their circumstances limit them. Rather, they see themselves as world-changers, doing any and every thing that they can to leave their neighborhood, school, community and ideas better than they found them. I am honored to be their teacher and inspired by them as my students and future leaders.
My students receive daily reading intervention in the form of Guided Reading groups. While one group of students meets with me for guided support, the other groups work independently in their centers. The Reading Journals will be used in our Guided Reading centers to help students get the consistent daily practice that they need to improve as readers. This will allow them to have the best chance of success at being ready for not just the coming grade but also college and the world beyond.
The math Power Pens and Quiz cards will absolutely light my students on fire with a love for practicing their math facts, an activity that has for generations past been seen as tedious and mundane.
Since our young mathematicians of today often find their quests for learning at constant odds with the siren call of the digital world around them, why not make the learning journey easier by merging the two? The math Power Pen toolkits will help us do just that!
