I teach a special education class in a Title I school. I serve 30 students who range from kindergarten to fifth grade. Their disabilities range from learning disabilities to visual impairments. They come from diverse backgrounds. Some students have limited verbal abilities. Five students have limited motor skills, which limits their writing ability. Most are mainstreamed during the day into regular education classrooms. They are at least two years behind their peers. Many come from impoverished backgrounds with little parental involvement.
When working with my students and other classrooms, it is exhilarating to watch them all learn about each other.
This project is for basic classroom materials. We need index cards. and pens to do our classwork. The storage boxes will help us keep our pencils organized. We will also use the lamination sheets to laminate and protect our work so that it lasts a long time. The construction paper will allow my students to make crafts and be creative. The journals will be used for taking notes and free writing. The Velcro dots will be used to hang our visuals and schedules. These basic materials will add much-needed resources to our classroom and will allow my students to do projects and classwork with ease. My students won’t need to worry about having enough materials and supplies to do their classwork and homework with. This will be a relief. Won't you help our class achieve our fullest potential? I am very excited about the opportunity to get these much needed basic supplies. Together, we can make a difference.
