My Project

This project has been created to supply students with materials that can be used in their self-selected Pirate Time sessions. Pirate Time is a weekly school-wide program where students self-select what they will learn, practice, and/or experience. These sessions are hosted by all teachers, and they range from standard extracurricular meetings to intramural sports, music, crafts, reading, and much much more. With my personal lifelong passion for crafting, I regularly offer a Crochet and Knitting Group where experienced and novice yarn crafters gather and create unique items!

Pirate Time has offered a unique opportunity for an eclectic mix of students to gather based on their common interest in crochet and knitting.

Although many students bring their own projects to work on, they have also selected to craft projects for community outreach. Students are currently creating hats, scarves, and other items to donate to our school's Tri-M club as they collect resources for a local shelter.

This crafty collection of yarn, hooks, steamer, and blocking boards will give students the opportunity to engage in high-interest craft activities that will foster strong relationships with each other and the community.
