This fictional text, which is based on a true story. This text would be a great support to our reading unit which helps students strengthen their character analysis and theme development. We are striving to choose books that have a thought-provoking message to better our students, academically challenging, as well as to truly gain interest in the field of reading. In our experience in the classroom, what students enter their reading class they automatically begin to grow and complain! Immediately losing interest, we knew we had to do something different! By using alternative books, we ensure that student standards can be addressed in each of these text well hoping to bring that she reading passion to the people who deserve it the most… our future!
It is my goal that every student in my class will be able to get their hands on this awesome book!
