Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are my inspiration. They are creative, curious and amazing. I teach a wide range from the tiny humans to the soon to be young adults (grades TK- 7 grade.) These kiddos have a keen eye for art and greatly enjoy creating all different projects using a variety of art media. They come to school every day ready to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy. These kiddos are excited to try new things, brave with new art techniques and concepts all while growing both personally and academically.
I can truly say these kiddos are the reason I am so excited to come to work everyday and leave feeling exhausted, not from poor behavior, but from the level of energy and excitement radiating out of these tiny and young artists.
At my school site, my fellow grade level teachers and myself have the awesome opportunity to work with students who are apart of the underserved communities of San Marcos, Escondido and Vista. We need help acquiring art supplies for our school as we are a brand new charter school.
My Project
All students want to create something beautiful in some shape or form that they can show off to the world. With this assortment of construction paper my, students will be able to express themselves with a variety of paper! We will be able to create a bunch of different things. One awesome project that the littles will be doing with this paper is creating a paper sculpture. The paper will be cut into long strips, where the students will loop, fold, and glue onto a big 9x12 piece of paper.There are ENDLESS possibilities with this art project.
