My Project
My classroom is full of bright, inquisitive 5th and 6th grade gifted students who bring extraordinary intellectual, emotional, and creative energy to everything they do. Their natural curiosity and love for learning inspire them to explore topics far beyond the standard curriculum. These students are independent thinkers who thrive on asking big questions, diving deep into subjects, and making meaningful connections in their own unique ways.
To truly flourish, they need more than what a traditional classroom can offer.
They need resources that promote exploration, experimentation, and self-directed discovery. That’s where your support comes in.
With this project, we’ll stock our classroom with essential supplies like index cards, pencils, chart paper, and sticky notes—tools that allow students to take notes, organize ideas, and record questions as they dive into research and inquiry-based learning. The Rick Riordan novels will be used in our unit on Greek mythology, combining high-interest literature with deep discussions about ancient cultures, character traits, and timeless stories.
Additionally, to support hands-on STEM learning, we’ll use duct tape, masking tape, toothpicks, and wood glue to design and build bridges, slow-motion marble runs and other creative engineering projects—encouraging collaboration, problem-solving, and real-world thinking. The new puzzles and games will add challenges for students during enrichment time, helping them build critical thinking, logic, and social skills while having fun.
By providing these resources, you will help me create an engaging learning environment that supports academic excellence, emotional development, and creative expression. Together, we can ensure these gifted learners have the tools they need to reach their fullest potential—and discover the joy of lifelong learning.
