Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are given a minimal budget to purchase art supplies for over 500 students to create art supplies. It is not nearly sufficient. The glue and tape that you donate will be turned into amazing 3-d sculptures made by my creative 7th and 8th grade artists! It makes a difference in their learning because they learn the life skills of making something out of nothing and finishing what they start.
Art class is a place where my students can let go of some of life’s challenges and just create art with their hands.
They learn by doing, not sitting behind a computer. What makes my students special is that they show up and in today’s world, that is half the battle.
