My Project

I love having a classroom full of diverse students. I have students with different cultural backgrounds, ability levels, and socio-economic status. Reading doesn't always come easily for them because of these barriers.

Reading graphic novels is an easy way for me to motivate my students, and they provide a different way for students to access literature.

Many people think graphic novels aren't "real books" or that they are "just comics." But novels like the ones in my project are what many of my students need to be successful and to become motivated readers. Not every student can read books with word-filled pages; many need pictures!

Having these graphic novels in my classroom library will help them to call themselves readers!
