This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books we are requesting are to supplement our library. We don't have a section of popular books in foreign languages. We are starting with Spanish and will branch out according to the students' interests. About 40-50 % of our students are non-native English speakers, and we have no way to further their literacy and overall reading proficiency. They could be doing so much more.

They always ask if we have popular books in Spanish because they like to read but struggle with straight English books.

I want them to love reading in any language!
