This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The time of big, old computers at one station is over! We need more interactive, faster, and updated technology for students to learn in the classroom.
My students are 5 year old children who live in a low socioeconomic community.
The majority of students are English language learners. They are great kids, but many times have to deal with difficult situations in their lives. Though our school may not be located in a great area, we work hard to give our students an inviting place to learn and experience new and memorable things and an opportunity for a better life.
My Project
Technology is a part of our world, and my students should not be excluded from that experience. With these two Nooks, students and groups of students can use them to play games online on educational websites and apps. Because the Nook is basically a computer, the possibilities are endless. They can practice reading, writing, math, and many many other subject areas. They can even be used for small group or individual guidance with teacher. They will help to reinforce what they learn in class and also help some kids learn through a different modality. They are portable and small, and students can take them anywhere in the classroom or school.
The Nooks will definitely engage all students.
The fun educational apps and websites motivate the students to learn in a different and fun way. They love technology and will love these Nooks!
