Nonfiction Novels to Help Students Grow

Help me give my students nonfiction novels that serve as windows, mirrors, and sliding glass doors.

My Project

Experts recommend that middle school classroom libraries have approximately 500 books; roughly half fiction and half nonfiction. My classroom library has a little over 300 novels, nearly all of which are fiction. It is high time that my students have access to more engaging nonfiction novels and a new bookshelf too!

The goal of my classroom library is to expand my students' horizons and help them grow as people.

I want to provide so many diverse reading options that every single student can find something to bring them joy, challenge them, and expose them to worlds they never knew existed. When the novels arrive, I will quickly integrate them into my classroom library, showcase them to students, conduct read-alouds, and more to get my students interested in reading engaging nonfiction.
