My Project
I am an ELA teacher to 62 wonderful students in Eastern Arizona. I teach students who read at a 12th grade level, and I teach students who read at a 1st or 2nd grade level. It can be hard to find books to read with both classes that are engaging, interesting, and accessible to all of my students.
Reading nonfiction books is so important for students of all ages and abilities, and that is why these books will be a great addition to my 5th grade classroom.
I have seen firsthand when a student picks up a book that they have no interest in. I have seen students give up before they even try because they just don’t connect to the text in front of them. These books would help all of my students comprehend nonfiction texts, which will help them think critically and creatively, which in turn will help them grow as learners!
Donating to this project would add these amazing books to our 5th grade reading classroom.
