I could not be more excited for the opportunity I have been given this year. I get the honor of teaching children who are so engaged in learning, who are invested in their education, and who care so very deeply about not only their successes, but the success of those around them.
These children come from all walks of life, neighborhoods all across Philadelphia, and, because of them, this school is incredibly diverse.
The children learn how to be Global Citizens as early as Kindergarten. They are taught how to be lifelong learners and contributors of society. My students are going to change the world - I have no doubt about that!
My Project
This year, through the Teachers College Reading and Writing Workshop, I hope to encourage my students to become stronger and more engaged Nonfiction reader. This Nonfiction leveled library will absolutely help my students to become better readers. In order to be a better reader, you must read. In order to learn more about the environment and the world around you, you need to read books about the environment and the world around you.
Through these Nonfiction texts, I will be able to help nurture my students' love of the environment and they will be able to have some tools available to them to ensure that they can learn about the world around them in order to help to take care of our Earth.
