My students thrive on strong conversation starters, conversations that are centered around world issues, tough topics, and current events. These resources will provide a team learning experience for my students through discussion, engagement, and activity.
My students, the 9-12th graders, are a small high school unit inside of a small K-12 free inner-city charter school in Indiana.
My students have high goals and aspirations and they aspire to accomplish them.
My students have made the collective goal to be college and career ready by the time they graduate in the next 1-4 years (depending on their grade level). They all come from different backgrounds, different challenges, but all look forward to accomplishing their goals and dreams post high school.
My Project
These resources will serve many different purposes. Included in this project are non-fiction magazines, non-fiction books, and test prep materials. The reason this project is focused on non-fiction readings is because this allows students to stay current about what is happening in the world, develop opinions on issues, and have beneficial conversations centered around this.
