I teach in a Title I school in a rural area in Louisiana. My school serves grades Pre-K-5th grade. We have around 800 students. Our first grade has 135 students, many of which qualify for free/reduced lunch.
Our school has fantastic teachers, administration and staff.
As a result of that, we continuously rank in the top of our Parish and State. Our school mission is to help every child become a self-directed, life-long learner and our school strives to accomplish that.
My students will love to read and learn as they receive their own magazine, every week! Students will be practicing early-reading skills such as print concepts, critical thinking, sight words, main idea, retelling and fluency.
They will read, watch background videos, listen to the text read aloud, complete printable skills sheets and play learning games all as a part of the subscription you will be helping to purchase.
This is such an easy way to engage the whole family! Everyone will receive 24/7 access to Scholastic News Online. The students' families can log on any time to watch videos, listen to read-alouds, play learning games and so much more!
