My Students

My eager 2nd graders are like little sponges soaking up all the new things around them. They have a drive for questions and knowledge that keeps me busy and looking for new ideas and concepts to teach them.

Most of my students do not have any other educational opportunities outside of school, so they come to school very eager to learn.

They appreciate anything that I do for them. They are always eager and ready to dive into whatever we're learning.

My Project

My students do not get enough interaction and exposure to the nonfiction texts and articles that they long for. I am asking for subscriptions to Scholastic News magazine because its relatable and engaging articles will help my students build vocabulary and gain knowledge of social studies and science news that is happening in their world today.

These Scholastic News magazines will help build the reading skills and content area knowledge my second graders need most, with on-level nonfiction, ready-to-go lesson plans and online resources.

The engagement possibilities and lesson ideas are endless with these articles in our hands.

By supporting our project, you will help put current national news in the hands of my students on a weekly basis.
