Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second grade classroom is full of imagination, laughter, and excitement. We are a very fun and energetic class that learns Spanish through reading, working on wonderful science and social studies projects, creating our own fiction and non-fiction texts and many other interesting activities!
This is my second year teaching in the USA and I am honored to teach a group of wonderful second graders!
My students spend 70% of their day learning 2nd grade subjects in Spanish as part of the dual immersion program at our school. There are 24 children, aged 7-8 who are simultaneously learning core subjects in English and in Spanish.
My Project
This books will allow the students to expand their knowledge on science and social studies. I am confident that these supplies will benefit my students in reading comprehension and will encourage them to learn more about their interest. Having these books will help the students to write informational texts and also increase their Spanish vocabulary and knowledge of grammar in this particular language. Second language learners and native language learners will be inspired for such great books and they will become future writers and eager readers that will lead them to success in their school careers and accomplish biliteracy in Spanish.
