This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My passion is for my students! I have been a teacher here at my low-income rural school for over 18 years. Many of my students come from poverty, and deodorant is not something parents think of as a high priority. Of course as their P.E. teacher I know that middle schoolers definitely need deodorant.

Help my students build confidence without having body odor get in the way!

I have provided deodorant for years to my students and will continue to do so. It does get expensive and having the ability of others who can provide for the cause would be greatly appreciated.

Besides P.E. I also am the health teacher for our little district. During our human growth and development classes, I stress showering and keeping fresh. This is not always possible due to the living situation of each of our kids. At least having the ability to slyly give my students a stick of deodorant, will help them get through the day without being bullied by others due to lack of ability to always shower at home when needed. Thanks for your support in allowing my students to focus on social, emotional, and educational health, rather than a smell that they can not help! Thanks for your support!
