My Project

I am the only counselor at a K-1 primary school. One of the problems we are facing this year is constant criers and whiners. These are children who cry and whine a large part of the day. These are not children who are hurt or hungry. These books will help them to manage their big emotions. These books will help to minimize their classroom disruptions.

Books that teach about emotions, anger management, and self-regulation are useful social-emotional tools for counselors and teachers.

I would use these books in small groups, classroom guidance lessons, and 1:1 counseling. I would also loan these books to classroom teachers.

Lessening the amount of criers and whiners will make our school a more peaceful place to be.
