This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Children deserve the opportunity to play outside, regardless of the season. All of my students are from low-income households, and it can be challenging to both find a safe place to play AND have access to weather appropriate clothes. School is a safe place to play; now we just need the tools go out out and do it!

Your donation will give my students the opportunity to experience New England winter - using snow boots to stomp on slush puddles, catching snowflakes on mittens, and crunching snow underfoot and in their hands.

Outdoor play for young children is important. It allows them the chance to explore different senses in nature, build gross motor skills, explore STEM concepts such as weather and seasons, and so much more. With our boots we will be able to go for walks and play outside even when the ground is wet and full of puddles or snow. We will be able to pick up and manipulate snow with waterproof mittens. The boots and mittens purchased here will be kept as a classroom set so children can continue to use them over the years. Thanks for your contribution!
