This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the honor of teaching an amazing group of first graders. My students are active learners, who thrive when given the opportunity to embrace their unique qualities. Almost all of the students struggle financially and qualify for free lunches. They struggle with attendance and being tardy to school. My students love learning and are eager to gain as much knowledge as I can throw at them.
My students inspire me daily, so I am thrilled to ask for projects on their behalf.
My Project
I want to help provide my students with snacks that they can have to boost their energy throughout the day. My students have an early lunch around 10:30 a.m. Having these snacks will provide them with a healthy snack to hold them over until they get home.
These snacks will keep my students engaged in their learning and not focus on hunger.
Imagine trying to focus or complete a task while hungry- it’s nearly impossible! This should not be a concern of a first grader. With healthy snacks, my students will be able to enjoy a nutritious snack to fill their tummy while not having to worry about being hungry.
