My Students

I teach middle school in Houston, TX, which is an urban/suburban area just north of Houston. My students are very diverse and full of energy. With physical schools closed, we need a new way to get students what they need and deliver on our mission to continue to teach despite not being together physically. In my classroom, I provide a space for kids to come and express themselves and learn how to work together and uplift each other. My students are the kids that some overlook, dismiss, or assume stereotypes. However, they are always demonstrating their motivation to learn, obtain an education.

My Project

Education around the world has moved forward with distance learning; however, there are training, documents, software, books, etc. that I now need to learn how to navigate via the web. In order to do my very best and give my students the best online learning experience, I am in dire need of a new laptop.

This donation will not only help to improve my teaching style and active engagement strategies but will also help me to help my students to dig deeper into their learning.

It's important to me to give my students the very best version of me. With the pandemic and financial restraints, I need help reaching my students in the best way possible. My students and I are a team and even with us not being in the classroom physically, we still communicate and Zoom frequently.

This computer will give me access to my students right at my fingertips. I will be able to directly communicate with my students, stay update to meetings, conference calls, etc.
