This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Headphones are no longer an "extra" in the 21st century classroom; they are an essential tool for accessing video content and certain learning programs. They are also important accommodating technology for learners who have special needs. We always used to all students to bring headphones to school.
Middle School students love to have the latest version of everything; many families feel pressured into getting them expensive airpods, because "everybody has them." We all end end up spending a lot of energy asking students to remove the airpods from their ears or helping students find the airpods that they have lost.
And worst of all, the kids who don't have them feel like they stand out.
If every student can be guaranteed access to their own regular headphones in class, we can help our students and teachers focus on what matters most. And we can make our classrooms places where essential materials don't turn into displays of wealth or status.
More than half of students from low‑income households
