No One Wants to Play an Ukulele With Only 2 Strings!
My students need 60 sets of ukulele strings to replace their old, worn out strings.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The sound of 60 well-tuned ukuleles all playing at once is something that you would never forget. Unfortunately, our ukuleles have strings that have been played for over 500 hours already, and can't hold their tuning anymore.
Please help our students to make beautiful music again.
I teach at a Title I charter school that is beating the odds and closing the achievement gap.
Our 250 middle school students are already focused on their goals of graduating from college, which is a rarity in their neighborhood. This determination to succeed has caused our test scores to shoot up by over 100 points (out of 1000) in the last year alone.
Because most of their previous elementary schools had no music programs, most of my students had no previous experience in music. I am proud to say that at the end of 8th grade, every student in the school is ready to succeed in a high school music program.
These are truly wonderful students who have to fight for everything in life. Your donation will help give them an amazing musical experience.
My Project
My classroom uses singing, ukuleles and dancing to help our students achieve their musical goals. Many of our students experience music the best when they are able to use an instrument to express their musical voice. The old, oily strings that the students now use do not inspire anyone. They are dull sounding and don't hold their tuning well.
A new set of strings will bring these instruments back to their full capacity, and will help all of my students to achieve their musical goals.
An excellent music program has the possibility to change a child's life.
While there have been many studies showing the link between music and tests scores, the fact is that great music is it's own reward.
Help our students to share their own creativity by funding our project. Thank you!
