I teach at a Title I charter school that is beating the odds and closing the achievement gap. Our 250 middle school students are already focused on their goals of graduating from college, which is a rarity in their neighborhood. This determination to succeed has caused our test scores to shoot up by over 100 points (out of 1000) in the last year alone. Because most of their previous elementary schools had no music programs, most of my students had no previous experience in music. I am proud to say that at the end of 8th grade, every student in the school is ready to succeed in a high school music program. These are truly wonderful students who have to fight for everything in life. Your donation will help give them an amazing musical experience.
