This is my 20th year teaching in a low income, urban environment. I absolutely love what I do and my students! Daily we have a morning and afternoon snack and there are always certain students who do not have one. No one deserves to go hungry! I have been providing snacks for those students however it is expensive and the school does not provide students with snacks. All our students get free lunch. This is the first time in 20 years that I am asking for help! In order for my students to access learning their basic survival needs have to be met first, which is shelter, food, clothing, medical care, and feeling safe. We can all help my students learn to their fullest potential by proving them with daily snacks! We can make sure none of them go hungry!
