My Project

Working with students in the Gifted Education program, my biggest goal is to stretch their thinking! Many of these students are used to getting all the answers right without1 putting forth a great deal of effort. I plan to change that! I want my students to explore challenging possibilities. I want to give them the extra push in order to make sure that learning continues to happen for these students.

Cardboard Construction will bring the power of play into our learning but without the sicky mess of glue and large amounts of tape!

At schools, carboard boxes are something that can easily be found. Those same cardboard boxes can be combined with imagination and play to create endless opportunities to address all kinds of problem based learning activities!

By combining lessons and ideas from 3DUX Design and Cardboard Engineering, my students will be challenged to think outside of the box to solve problems and tackle real world issues using the accessible material of cardboard. By using the connectors in the requested materials, there will not be a need for the sticky mess that comes from glue and huge amounts of tape.

Not only will these materials promote learning but they will also encourage the reusing and recycling of the materials available!
