My Students

I am a teacher of the best grade in the world ...Third Grade! They are always striving to be the best kids they can be. They are Leaders who plan on leading the world in a great direction someday!  Children at this age are eager to learn. I have 27 hard working and enthusiastic learners in my class. They put so much energy into everything they do. It brings a smile to my face to see them engaged and wanting to learn. We have some special need students who require a lot of peer support. It warms my heart daily to see how supportive they are to each other.

My Project

A barrier to learning is sitting in hard chairs all day. We move a lot throughout the day, but I would like to provide different seating options for my class. Students are not used to sitting all day like the good old days. I have already seen the positive results from flexible seating. I have started small with 2 balance balls, 2 camp chairs and 1 inflatable chair. The students love using these as they are learning and working. It helps to get their wiggles out and helps them to focus better.

One way to help my students is through wobble cushions and balance balls.

These items will help students to get out their wiggles while staying engaged in class. I want to add 6 wobble cushions, 6 soft seats, and 6 balance balls to my classroom. This would give 18 more students the opportunity to enjoy flexible seating. It will provide a fun and comfortable seating alternative to regular chairs. This will help all my students, but especially those who struggle with ADHD.
