My Students
My third graders are 25, high energy, eight year olds, who love to learn! Yet they also love to move. They are excited about learning and challenging themselves in a new grade.

My students enjoy coming to school. Math, science, reading, social studies, music, art, computers, STEM- all subjects seem to be their favorite. We are the last classroom in third grade to switch to flexible seating and they are buzzing with excitement!
My Project
3rd grade students do not sit still! Elementary school is not meant for lecture style learning. I am working toward creating a complete classroom with flexible seating.
"Minds are like parachutes, they only function when open." This is a quote that supports my classroom environment.
Flexible seating will help my students open their minds as they are able to move, choose, and collaborate in a comfortable environment. It encourages students to take charge of their learning. Additionally, the seating allows for an increased sense of community, sharing, and caring.
My students are loving the steps we have taken toward flexible seating and would be benefited by added furniture to our room.
