Help me give my students a better distance learning experience. With a second monitor, we can spend less time on tech set up between activities and more time working together.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My middle school students live in a large, urban district where over 85% come from economically disadvantaged households. I teach health and science to seventh and eighth-graders. The students are as diverse as the city we live in. They come from all over the city to attend our STEAM magnet, but they are united in their goals.
My Project
I video conference with my students every day. Keeping up student engagement is key. Our screens are our connections. With a second monitor, I can keep my conference and chat windows open while presenting on a shared screen, looking at student work, or having them share their ideas.
With a second monitor, I will not have to spend time dragging around windows and trying to make space on my laptop screen for conferencing and teaching.
I will be able to keep my class on one screen while we use the other for teaching. This ability really is game-changing and gets rid of downtime and missed student responses.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
