I teach two groups of students each day. My homeroom class is with me all day, for reading, writing, science, and social studies, except when they leave for math class with another teacher. During that time, another class comes to me for reading. I work in a focus school that is located in a close-knit and supportive community. My classes are made up of friendly and fun-loving students, who are creative and energetic.
My students love coming to school every day and are always eager to learn!
I look forward to the smiles on my students' faces when they come in every morning. My students are hard-working and caring individuals that strive to be successful today and in their futures. I enjoy watching them blossom into strong leaders every day.
My Project
My students need a carpet space to sit on during our daily mini-lessons. In alignment with our curriculum, my students come to a meeting area for read aloud time, reading lessons, and writing lessons. I see two classes for reading and one class for writing, so this project will reach close to 50 students. These mini-lessons are an important part of our daily instruction. The purpose of a mini-lesson is to allow me to teach a new skill, provide time for guided practice, and set students up for a successful independent working period.
Your generous donations to our project will improve our learning environment by making our days more comfortable and conducive for success.
My students will be elated to sit on a carpeted area instead of on the (not so clean) floor. More time will be spent on instruction when we do not have to worry about our bottoms getting dirty. A carpet will also provide us with an additional space that is helpful for group collaboration, class meetings, and more!
