My Students

Do you remember sitting in your desk at school all day? Did you every feel like you needed more room? Students spend an average of 7-8 hours crammed in small, uncomfortable desks that don't allow ample space to accommodate their materials.

My students come to me from diverse home lives.

We are a mostly middle-class, high-performing school. This would normally seem like a great asset, but unfortunately we often get overlooked because we don't seem as much in need as other schools. I strive to continue to push my students and keep them ahead.

My Project

My students are currently using laptops everyday in my class. We use an online textbook, Google classroom, and many sites and tools. Unfortunately, my students do not have any the appropriate space to work effectively. The tables and chairs would allow the students the appropriate amount of space to easily use not only their laptop but be able to complete paper and pencil geared activities as well.

As of right now, have 30 stand alone desks in my classroom.

Our school building was built over 20 years ago and the classrooms are somewhat outdated. My students have to sit in long straight rows and do not allow them to easily work collaboratively. Instructional time is taken away every time students need to rearrange the room in order to get in groups. Work tables would allow for easier collaboration and flexibility in seating.
