My Students
For the past couple of years, I have used advanced technology to deliver effective lessons to my scholars; but technology is changing so fast that some times for efficiency, we need to upgrade our equipment. The computer we are using is most of the time low on virtual memory and delays the lessons.
Currently, I am responsible for teaching AP Calculus, Physics, and Algebra and Trigonometry in a high need neighborhood in New York to students who aspire to become engineers and scientists.
It is undeniable that technology is a tool of necessity in education. Integrating technology in my classroom would help my students not only better understand the concepts of the above mentioned disciplines, but also prepare them for their higher education in college.
My Project
My students have always been impressed with and have benefited from the clarity of the lessons that I have delivered using available technology. This mini MacBook Air and adapter will help smooth out the lessons in class so as to eliminate the waiting time in between switching from software to software or from program to program. Any idle time adds to students' distractions. This equipment will not only help deliver clear and comprehensive lessons, but also it helps in classroom management by reducing the idle time.
This computer will, most importantly help my students research, prepare, and present their project more effectively; and during the one-on-one interactions, my students will access on this computer, all their assignments and seek my assistance.
In soliciting this equipment, my goal is to serve someone in need.
No matter how ambitious I am about helping my students, I can only do so much. It is my belief that one never knows what contributions these student we are all trying to help will make in our society or for the whole of humanity.
