My Students
My students have many challenges they face every day. Many come to school hungry, exhausted, and/or emotionally frustrated. We need to first satisfy their basic needs before they can even begin to learn. Our school is ensuring that we teach the whole child and they get all of their needs fulfilled. We want to make sure they leave each grade, not only prepared for the next year, but that they are 21st century life-long learners.
About 99% of my students get free or reduced lunch, which means there are probably hardships at home.
They need to be exposed to more books and build a love of literacy. I would like to make a cozy environment for them to read and build their love of literacy.
My Project
These requested dry erase lapboards and clipboards will help bring the level of engagement to a much higher level in Math. Students can practice solving problems while at the carpet in small groups. Students love using these boards to solve problems. This breaks up the monotonous paper and pencil practice in Math and helps them to build that love of math!
The JustJamz Kidz headphones can help keep them highly engaged with individualized instruction on the computers and practicing skills they need.
The clipboards will allow the students to still work at the carpet and have something they can write on in the process.
