These novel sets will allow every student to have their own text in hand. There is a time for a read aloud by the teacher, but during the actual Reading lessons, we will learn through different novels. Students will be able to follow along, read on their own, and annotate their own books. This allows them to practice what they are learning and read the text on their own time. For those students who are reading on grade level, they can read ahead at home and those who need some support can take their book and read with another adult. It also provides them with a few new books to take home to their families and read anytime they want. I want students to form a love of reading. When they know they are receiving their own books, they not only get excited knowing it is their book to keep and write in, but they tend to take care of it better knowing it is theirs.
