This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Hi donors! I have 15 amazing students in a life skills special education classroom. They have a huge variety of strengths and challenges, but they all contribute to a loving, collaborative space. They learn English, math, science, and social studies in my classroom while spending their elective classes with typically developing peers in general education classes.
My students come from low income families who may not always be able to provide essential items to their students.
These may include food, clothing, school supplies, and funds for extra things like a field trip or yearbook. These students work extra hard to achieve goals others may find simple, and I wish I could give them the world.
My Project
These healthy snacks will help my students feel full throughout the day. Some of them look for any food they can find to bring home. I want to have a steady supply of healthy snacks on hand to keep them well fed. Our school provides breakfast and lunch to all students free of charge yet they often fail to give healthy options. It is so important that students get fruits, veggies, and healthy grains while at school since that may not be available at home. Thank you so much in advance!
